Our small village hosted quite a big event today as part of Visit Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink.
My other half, Howard, had been previously asked to take some publicity photos, one of which was used on the front of the leaflets.
Local firms selling included Petrie Fine Foods, Dunlop Dairies, The Hidden Garden, Galloway Chillies, Dalduff Farm Shop, Marrbury Smokehouse, J Pieroni & Sons, Lottie’s Kitchen, Barwheys Dairy and much, much more….
Local forager, Mark Williams of Galloway Wild Foods, demonstrated the wealth of free food available on the doorstep and sea shore and even took groups of people out foraging.
Doing cookery demonstrations were:
Munur Kara, Executive Chef at Trump Turnberry Golf Resort.
Susan Cossthwaite, festival organiser, from Cosses Country House.
Kirsty Wark, TV presenter and finalist of Celebrity Masterchef.
And music was supplied by a great local band called Pulse…a great mixture of blues and jazz for today’s event.
I was really impressed that their music was stored on iPads!
A great day and one I hope that is repeated over the coming years going from strength to strength.
